SaskWater provides professional water and wastewater services to 77 communities, 11 rural municipalities, 78 rural pipeline groups, 15 industrial and 261 commercial and domestic end-user customers. SaskWater remotely monitors 63 SaskWater and customer-owned facilities and provides operator training to 29 Saskatchewan First Nations.

To manage their Financials, Projects, Procurement, Supply Chain and HR needs SaskWater started their search for a replacement to their disparate systems. SaskWater, after evaluating several ERP/HCM systems, chose Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications as their system of choice.
Successs
Once the decision was made to implement Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, SaskWater, through an RFP process, SaskWater chose Novamodus Solutions as their system implementer, after evaluating over seven other Oracle partners.
Drop by drop, Novamodus made the water flow
Novamodus and SaskWater decided to implement the project in phases with Phase 0 being the common design for the entire suite of applications. The design included all modules in scope - Financials, Projects, Procurement, Asset Maintenance, Inventory, HR Core, Talent Management, Time and Labour, Benefits, Absence Management, Planning and Budgeting.
The project also included Novamodus doing the integration with the Utility Billing system that was built using Oracle Technology. The design phase was completed on-time and on-budget.
After the required approvals were obtained for the implementation, the first phase of the project started in February 2020, just a month before the Covid-19 outbreak. With the new norm of working from home and travel restrictions, Novamodus suggested that the project be slowed down, but not stopped, and extended the go-live date from 12 months to 18 months. Covid-19 was not the only problem the project encountered. We were faced with an Government of Saskatchewan employees strike, which Novamodus took into our stride.
The project successfully went live in October 2021 on Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials, Procurement, Projects, HR Core, Benefits, Time and Attendance and Absence Management.
